In today’s Speech from the Throne, Queen Beatrix reflected on the value of agricultural innovation and the contribution made by Dutch technology to feeding the world:
“The Netherlands is the world’s second largest exporter of agricultural and horticultural products. The innovative and sustainable character of our agrarian sector is held in high esteem worldwide. Our country can make an important contribution to global food security by continuing work to improve current technologies, with the government creating the conditions for sustainable production methods.”
