The grand opening of the ‘Floriade’ in Almere took place on the 14th of April. Our Seed Valley partner Bejo has their own demofield at the site. On lot 133 you will find the most beautiful colored beets, carrots, kale, asparagus, green and purple salad and much more!
Bejo is has an exhibiton, together with Flevofood (lot 134) and Pixelfarming (lot 132), called ‘SOWING the FUTURE’. The focus is on innovation in seed breeding and research, technology in agriculture and the collaboration between these parties. In this way they provide consumers with healthy vegetables.
Growing Green Cities
The theme of this Floriade is ‘Growing Green Cities’. Participants present solutions that are needed to make cities greener, healthier and more fun. Of course, food production also comes into play. Solutions are presented in the field of urban horticulture, sustainable agriculture, health and many more.
Historie van de Floriade
The Floriade started in 1960 in Rotterdam and has since been organized once every 10 years. It is a World Horticultural Exhibition, with a different theme every time. It has become the place where governments, companies, but also artists like to share their work in horticulture and nature with the world.
