From curious explorer to technology pioneer.

Sometimes a career doesn’t start with a master plan. It starts with curiosity. For Jasper, Program Manager Technology at Enza Zaden, that curiosity showed itself from an early age: taking things apart, discovering new systems and always wanting to know how things could be made smarter. Today, he has found his place at Enza Zaden, connecting data, technology and plant breeding.

2004: Curiosity from an early age

Machines. Technical drawings. Designing new constructions. His fascination was never limited to one thing. It was always about discovering how things work.

2017: The turn towards Seed Valley

At school, Jasper found almost everything interesting. Except biology — he quickly dropped that subject. But during his studies in Science, Business & Innovation, he discovered something unexpected: scientific discoveries only become truly interesting when they create real change.

That curiosity led him, through a simple email to Seed Valley, to Enza Zaden, where he started his graduation internship. It was here that his passion for nature truly began to grow.

2019: A journey of discovery

His graduation internship was successfully completed. Time for the next step: starting as a Trainee at Enza Zaden. Still without a fixed career plan, but with plenty of room to explore and start new initiatives. Within the Information & Digitalization (I&D) department, he moved between IT and data science, as well as digitalization, cybersecurity and digital transformation. Along the way, he didn’t just get to know systems, he discovered how all disciplines within Seed Valley are connected.

2022: Curiosity knows no boundaries

After completing his traineeship, Jasper started working as a Business Process Analyst. His work reaches far beyond the walls of Enza Zaden. From visiting one of the breeding stations in France and going on a hike with colleagues after work in Spain, to spontaneously stopping by a station in Salinas during his holiday. The world of plant breeding has truly captured him.

2026: One team, one mission

Today, Jasper proudly works as Program Manager Technology. The mission of him and his team: building systems that help breeders around the world make better decisions.

From sensors and data flows to AI and climate data. Everything is designed to better understand what a plant needs to grow stronger.

Fun fact: High-tech job. Low-tech habits.
