3 jobs that reveal what usually stays hidden

1. Lab Technician

In the lab, you uncover what remains hidden out in the field. You take samples, perform analyses and record results with precision. You pipette, measure and check your work until you know every result is accurate. Researchers build on your findings, making precision more than just a detail: it is the foundation for every next step. A small deviation can make a big difference. This isn’t about wearing a lab coat for show. It takes steady hands, a keen eye and the patience to put evidence before assumptions.

2. Seed Analyst

On the outside, a seed may look perfectly fine. But will it perform as it should? In this role, you assess seed quality before it moves further along the supply chain. You take samples, carry out germination and quality tests, and carefully evaluate the results. How many seeds germinate? How quickly do they emerge? And does a seed lot meet the required standards? You record your findings and investigate further whenever something doesn’t add up. Along the way, you work with colleagues in production, research and other teams. Because before a seed lot can move on, there’s one thing you need to be sure of: its quality meets the mark.

3. Quality Assurance Specialist

A good seed alone isn’t enough. The way it is produced, processed, stored and shipped must meet the mark, too. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you safeguard that quality at every stage. You check whether processes follow the right procedures and standards, investigate deviations and work with colleagues to identify where improvements can be made. You connect what is written on paper with what actually happens in the lab, in production and throughout logistics. Because quality isn’t just about the end result. It’s built into every step along the way.
