Unique DNA

Some engineers design machines. Arjan likes to take things a step further. Whatever he gets his hands on, he comes up with ideas, designs, experiments, creates, adapts, starts over if necessary, and learns something new every day. As a Mechanical Engineer at Seed Processing Holland, Arjan engineers complete processing lines that help clean, sort and treat seeds all over the world.
47% Allrounder
Why focus on just one thing when you can understand and improve the entire machine and the process behind it? For Arjan, a CAD model is just the beginning. That's when the real fun starts. Drawing the machine in 3D, including 3D-printing parts to test them straight away. Tweaking scripts to help colleagues work faster. Keeping a close eye on how the machine is assembled in the workshop. And in the meantime, learning how to draw electrical control cabinets and program PLCs. One thing's for sure: it’s never boring. Versatile, absolutely.
33% Craftsman
More than 3,000 Seed Processing Holland machines are now operating all over the world. Pretty amazing, if you ask Arjan. But for him, it’s everything that happens before a machine is delivered that really matters. Every customer request calls for a different solution. To him, craftsmanship isn't about one big idea. It’s about all the decisions you make along the way. Testing, adjusting and improving until everything is just right. Because it’s those details that determine whether a machine will run smoothly for years to come and deliver the best possible results.
20% System Disruptor
Arjan isn't someone who settles for knowing what a machine does. He wants to know why. That's why his journey didn't stop with Mechanical Engineering. Alongside his job, he's studying Electrical Engineering. He's learning to program PLCs, exploring control engineering and writing scripts that make his colleagues' work easier. For Arjan, the key is understanding how all the different components work together. And as soon as he figures that out, he's already curious about the next layer. He keeps tinkering with his knowledge every day. Because the more he understands, the better the machines he can build.
