Why is working in this sector so exciting?

The world of plant breeding and tissue culture is incredibly dynamic. No two days are the same, and there are many different directions you can specialise in: from cultivation and innovation to marketing and HR. Technological developments, such as AI-driven robots, are also making the work increasingly challenging and exciting.

On top of that, the opportunities for career growth are endless. You can continue learning and developing yourself within this sector.

What does a working day at AllPlant look like?

That depends on your role, but variety is guaranteed. If you work in the greenhouse, you are responsible for assessing and caring for the plants. You work together with colleagues to optimise growth and quality. You might be sorting plants or providing a specific treatment for a particular variety.

There are also plenty of opportunities to develop yourself outside the greenhouse, for example in sales.

In addition, we work with innovative technologies such as advanced robotics and automation, creating many opportunities for technical talent.

What skills and qualities is AllPlant looking for?

AllPlant is looking for people who take initiative and are willing to take responsibility. You do not necessarily need to have a horticultural background; curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a passion for plants are just as important.

Basic knowledge of plants is useful, but you will continue to develop your skills internally. If you are open to new challenges and eager to learn, you can build a great future here.

What career opportunities and internships are available?

The company offers plenty of opportunities for internships, traineeships, and career development. For example, employee Thon joined the company 15 years ago as an intern and now holds an important sales position within the organisation.

There are many more examples like this. The best period to start an internship is between January and August, so you can experience a full growing season. But even if you join later, there is always something new to learn!

What advice do you have for students interested in this sector?

Simple: take the leap! This sector is more diverse than you might think, and there is room for anyone with a curious and entrepreneurial mindset.
