Grant boosts learning and innovation in the seed sector

Great news: Vonk, Hogeschool Inholland and Seed Valley have received funding through the LLO-Katalysator programme. Over the next four years, we will work together to build a modern learning and innovation ecosystem for plant breeding and seed technology.

Our goal? To help people grow, keep their skills up to date and strengthen the connection between education and the labour market.

Learning that evolves with practice

The grant enables us to implement the Seed Valley Campus project plan, which focuses on attracting new talent, upskilling and reskilling professionals, and aligning education more closely with industry needs.

Through a digital Lifelong Learning (LLO) platform offering an up-to-date range of courses tailored to current demands, professionals can continue developing their skills. At the same time, we are bringing education and business needs closer together in a more structural way.

A physical meeting point will also be created where talent, education and industry come together for training sessions, masterclasses and events.

Stronger together for the future

The sector faces major challenges, including labour shortages, an ageing workforce and rapid technological developments.

According to Delia Bakker, Programme Manager at Seed Valley:

Over the next four years, together with our two partners, we expect to reach thousands of people. In doing so, we will make a significant contribution to the North Holland North region, preparing not only the sector, but the region as a whole for the future.
