Mark Rutte, the Prime Minster of the Netherlands, was received in Hoorn on the afternoon of Monday 21 September by Johan Remkes, the Royal Commissioner of the province of Noord-Holland. The Prime Minster was updated on developments in the region, including economic stimulus measures and improvements to highway infrastructure.
Visit to Seed Valley
At the end of the afternoon in Enkhuizen, the Prime Minister visited the vegetable-breeding company Enza Zaden. This innovative family business develops more than 1,100 vegetable varieties and now has 42 sites and three joint ventures in 24 countries. Enza Zaden has its headquarters in Seed Valley.
