Bejo is an internationally operating Dutch family company specialised in breeding, production and sales of vegetable seeds. The quality of our product is our top priority. Together with our highly motivated and committed staff, we want to boost our innovative company’s growth worldwide.

The colleagues of the Sales department are responsible for selling and advising on vegetable seeds worldwide within six sales areas. For the area Western Europe we are looking for a motivated student to do a market study about the future of broccoli mechanical harvest. This internship will take place in Warmenhuizen (The Netherlands).

THE INTERNSHIP ASSIGNMENT
Availability of hand labor is becoming an increasing issue. As a result of this many initiatives have started to mechanize the harvest of Broccoli. Which technique will become the ultimate solution to be able to harvest Broccoli full automatically? That is the question where you need to find the answer by doing desk research and market investigation in especially the main markets in Spain, USA and Mexico. You will interview machine builders and growers to understand their concerns and requirements.

Based upon this research you will develop an advice to Bejo what requirements are needed for the future Broccoli to be harvested mechanically. Also you will develop by combining all information input for our sales colleagues to bring knowledge and have the right conversation about future mechanical harvest of broccoli with our customers.

 

YOUR POWER

  • An agricultural education at HBO level
  • Interest in new techniques and their application in the agricultural field
  • The ability to work independently and proactively
  • Communication skills in Dutch and English, Spanish is an advantage.
  • In possession of driving license B (in connection with travel between the different locations)
